I filled out an application with your agency two months ago. Why haven’t you found me a job?
We work mostly in the area of electronics manufacturing and IT. Our client companies give us job orders with specific skills and experience requirements. We search our database for applicants that have the skills and experience required. We present our client with several candidates who meet the requirements and leave the choice up to them. If you feel you have been overlooked for jobs, we are always happy to discuss particular situations with you. It may be that you have qualifications that you have not mentioned in your application or resume.
Do you have to be a US citizen to get a job with ALC Technical?
No. For most of the jobs, applicants do not need to be a US citizen but you will be required to show evidence that you can legally work in the United States.
QUESTIONS FREQUENTLY ASKED BY EMPLOYEES
Where do I get a timecard?
You can download a timecard from our website. It is found in the Payroll Packet. If you do not have the capability to print from your computer, we can fax one to you or your work place. Of course, you can always pick one up at our office. In addition, you will receive one each week with your paycheck or paystub.
How do I fill out my timecard? Is it necessary to fill out all the blanks?
We do need to have most of the information on the timecard filled out in order to identify you and document your actual work hours. Most importantly we need your name printed clearly on the top of the card as well your signature. It is also very important that you identify the company where you are assigned and have the signature of your supervisor approving your work hours. Please put the dates you worked and the hours for each day as well as the total hours you worked. For portions of an hour, please use a percentage. For example, 30 minutes would be written as .5 hours, 15 minutes as .25 hours.
How do I turn my timecard in?
ALC Technical pays employees each Thursday for the week that ended the previous Sunday. You may submit your timecard at the end of the last day of your work week but in any case, we must have it by noon on Tuesday. Many of our client companies will collect and submit the timecards to our agency so you need only submit it to your on-site supervisor in a timely manner. Some companies prefer to sign off your timecard and give you the responsibility of submitting it to us. In those cases, you may email, fax or hand deliver the timecard. Our fax number is 813-960-2822.
How do I get my paycheck?
Paychecks are available in our office after Wednesday noon. Just remember they are dated for Thursday. If you are unable to pick up your paycheck, we will mail it on Wednesday afternoon. We also offer direct deposit. If you choose this option, your paycheck will be in your bank account sometime on Thursday depending on your bank’s ACH drop.
What employee benefits do I have as an ALC Technical employee?
After 13 weeks as an ALC Technical employee, you will be eligible for holiday pay for New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. After 13 weeks of employment, you will also earn 1.54 hours of paid personal time off for each 40 hours worked. This time can be used at your discretion with the approval of your on-site supervisor.
How can I find out how much paid personal time I have accrued?
Call our office at 813-968-8976. If you request more paid personal time on your time card than you actually have available, we will pay the amount you have.
How do I show paid personal time on my timecard?
Mark the hours of paid personal time “PPT” on your timecard. Do not include that time in the total. The total is only for actual hours worked.
Does paid personal time and paid holiday time count toward the 40 hours worked for overtime purposes?
No, since this pay is an ALC Technical benefit and not charged to the client company, we cannot charge overtime pay to our client unless you have actually worked 40 hours in that week.
If I complete my assignment and have not used all my paid personal time, will I get paid for it?
Yes, at the end of your assignment, we will pay you for any paid personal time you have accrued but not used.
If I am not able to go to work for some reason, do I notify ALC Technical or the on-site supervisor I report to?
Please call your worksite supervisor first if you cannot go to work or will be late. If you do not have a phone number for the supervisor, call our office and we will relay your message to them. If you have notified your onsite supervisor, it is not necessary to also tell us.
If I am injured at work, how do I report it?
Report any work-related injury to your on-site supervisor immediately. If it is an injury that needs more than first-aid treatment, they will contact us for the name of a medical facility close by where you can receive treatment. If the injury occurs when our office is not open, go to the nearest emergency medical treatment facility and report the incident by leaving a message on our phone. If you receive treatment at a medical facility before you speak to someone in our office, be sure to tell the treating facility that your employer is ALC Technical.
